New York window handles use a handle rotation locking mechanism, which protects the window against break-in attempts by dislocating the hardware's locking elements from the outside. Handle turning makes a characteristic noise, whose task is to warn the house occupants when someone is tampering with the windows.
The handle is available with a key for selected spindle lengths and colours.
