The new Eko-Okna factory in Wodzisław Śląski already in operation

Two and a half years have passed since Eko-Okna purchased parcels in Wodzisław Olszyny. The then-announced investment worth several hundred million zlotys has just become a reality. Recruitment is already underway, and the number of jobs is limited.

Until now, the entire production of Eko-Okna took place at the plant in Kornice near Racibórz. In addition to windows, there are doors, garage doors, fences, roller shutters, blinds and mosquito nets. "The opening of the production plant in Wodzisław Śląski is a breakthrough in the company’s history. From now on, the production runs simultaneously in two separate factories," says Tomasz Marek, director of the Eko-Okna plant in Wodzisław Śląski.

New jobs

The new facility, with an area of ~1 250 000 sq ft, houses all crucial areas of the factory: production, high-bay warehouse and finished goods warehouse. In addition to the production departments, the new factory includes offices. "Ultimately, our new plant will operate six lines producing glazing units and ten lines for typical windows. There will also be non-standard doors, windows and sliding systems, as well as roller shutters, mosquito nets and other aluminium products. All these will be supported by the profile veneering department and fully automatic powder paint shop,” explains Tomasz Marek.

Employee transport

Eko-Okna is known for the many benefits it provides to the staff. Among other things, a cafeteria with preferential prices available to employees and a parking lot for 600 cars right next to the hall. The company will also organise transport to the factory in Wodzisław Śląski. ”We will be launching additional new bus lines in 2024. Currently, we are still negotiating terms with operators,” adds Mr. Marek.

Recruitment is already underway

The company currently employs nearly 13,000 people, but the opening of the new plant has increased the need for employees. "We are mainly looking for production workers involved in cutting, machining and assembling elements, fittings, milling or assembly work. In doing so, they operate the tools and machinery necessary for the job. There is also a developing sales department in Wodzisław Śląski employing people with foreign languages, including French, Italian and Dutch.
