Energy-saving house? The gate also matters

energy efficiency

Energy-efficient construction in Poland is slowly becoming the standard. One of the important elements that affects the heat balance in the house is window and door joinery. Investing in good, airtight windows and doors is part of the success. The garage door also contributes to the reduction of energy losses in the home.

A few years back, energy-efficient houses were perceived in Poland as an unusual, futuristic solution. Distinctive architecture, i.e. geometric shapes with a roof having the lowest inclination, and expansive glazing, stood out against classic buildings with a gable roof. Currently, such projects raise no eyebrows. What's more, from 2021, after the changed technical conditions came into force, the standards for all single-family houses meet requirements for energy-efficient buildings. The legislator leaves no room for investors. They must comply with the new standards and plan construction accordingly.

Warm windows in an energy-saving house

Several factors contribute to a good thermal insulation of a building, incl. thermal insulation technology of walls, and properly made roofing and joinery. Warm, airtight doors and windows minimise heat loss and prevent cold wind from entering the house. Glazing (which takes up the largest part of the window) is also meaningful. Triple-glazed packages are the minimum standard for energy-efficient houses. Four-glass packages allow you to achieve the highest thermal insulation parameters and are dedicated to houses with the highest energy efficiency requirements. An additional element worth paying attention to, and which increases the energy efficiency of the building, is the garage door.

An energy-efficient house – the garage door matters

In modern construction, the garage is placed rather in the body of the building. It then constitutes an additional thermal barrier, helping to minimise energy losses for the entire house. In addition to reducing heating costs, we also save space on the plot. What is more, the garage, from which we go straight into the interior of the house, is simply practical in many aspects. Of course, this part of the body must be properly insulated, and the garage door must be airtight and of high quality.

Eko-Okna’s INFINITI garage doors fit well into the concept of an energy-efficient house. Sectional doors are the warmest among garage solutions. Critical points, i.e. the places where the segments are connected, are equipped with seals; the areas where the door meets the frame are also protected in a similar way.

As a result, heat losses are minimised. If we combine high-class materials with appropriate sealing and panel thickness, we obtain parameters that meet the technical requirements for external doors and garage doors introduced in 2021 in energy-efficient houses.

In the case of INFINITI doors, functionality goes hand in hand with aesthetics and modern technology. These partitions are not only warm, but also have an elegant design and can be a part of a safe, smart home.
