Home gym – comfort and economy
A home gym is a dream of many a lover of physical activity. Even if part of the training takes place in a fitness club - a place to exercise at home gives you additional opportunities. People with a busy schedule can simply exercise when they want or when they manage to find time during the day. For this reason, it is a good solution for parents, but also for everyone who lives far from the gym. In the end - people who train a lot – amateur or professionally – decide to arrange it at home. A separate room allows you to create an appropriate atmosphere and conditions conducive to concentration while performing strength exercises. Where and how to plan a home gym to be functional and comfortable?
Where to arrange a home gym?
The first step in creating a home gym is choosing a room. Contrary to appearances, it does not have to be very large - we choose the space individually, taking into account the number and type of equipment we will use. The height of the room is also a moot point – not all activities require high ceilings. However, it is very important, and even obligatory, to have adequate ventilation. In a home gym, on the one hand, we need to ensure air exchange, and on the other – adequate tightness in cold weather. Therefore, the quarters cannot be fixed, the windows should allow tilting and opening, and should be equipped with air vents.
Lighting also affects the quality of physical exertion and our well-being. It is not surprising that the dream location of the gym in the house is a room with an exit to the terrace, with large glazing and a view of the green area. It is also worth taking care of appropriate acoustics and making the room as quiet as possible so as not to disturb other members of the household – especially if we train early in the morning or late in the evening. For better acoustic insulation, soundproof glass panes are used and the floor is adequately protected.
Home gym windows – put on sliding systems
If we plan a home gym at the design stage, we have a lot of room for manoeuvre in choosing window and door joinery. On the Internet, we can find a lot of ideas on how to create such an arrangement, but the most attractive ones are those with large-size glazing – not only because of the excellent aesthetics. They allow, above all, very good ventilation of the room – and with the use of appropriate solutions, even opening the gym to the outside area. Interestingly, we do not have to have a large area - large windows will have a positive effect on a small gym, which, when combined with a terrace, will be enlarged by additional space. Sliding systems are also practical in that when opening windows and balcony doors, the sashes do not collide with the equipment located inside – in this case with sports equipment standing by the windows.
