Style windows, i.e. what windows to choose for the Spanish style

Windows

What is Spain associated with? Hot sun, energy of colours, expressive music, dance and a mixture of cultures. The Spanish style in interiors is lively and attractive – it is far from the Japanese balance or Scandinavian minimalism, and at the same time it is filled with natural accents. Which windows fit the Spanish style?

Spanish style in the interior – the main features

Colours and contrasts

Spanish-style interiors are filled with colours. Expressive colours: red, violet, green, yellows are often contrasted. Vivid and intense accent palettes appear on the background of light walls. Although the "accents" can be of different sizes: multi-colored carpets, upholstery of armchairs and sofas, pillows and decorations.

Patterns and decorations

Spanish interiors are very boldly arranged when it comes to the multitude of patterns. Islamic influences can be seen in the rich ornaments on textiles, dishes, trinkets and, above all, beautiful decorative tiles. Mosaic tiles are a characteristic element of Spanish-style houses - including modern ones. Traditionally (although in modern versions) they are used to finish floors, walls and table tops.

Natural materials

Not only colours and patterns distinguish the Spanish style in interiors. In addition to lively, temperamental colours, we also have natural materials that are neutral in colour: wood and stone. The wooden furnishings are rather dark and heavy - large tables for shared feasts with family and friends, carved cabinets and colonial-style chests of drawers. Warm and deep shades: walnut, mahogany or ebony in the furniture fittings are visible remnants of the Moorish culture. Wood is also present in the form of ceiling beams - these massive elements stand out on the ceiling plane and give the interior a rustic character. The walls in Spanish houses are often made of stone, which provides a pleasant coolness in the high temperatures outside. Brick or white painted plaster are other options for finishing contemporary interiors inspired by the style of the south. Clay vessels, jute, rattan and linen - also appear in Spanish arrangements.

Which windows to choose for the Spanish style?

The basis in Spanish interiors are, as we mentioned, neutral colours and natural raw materials. White, beige, grey stone, brown and warm terracotta. Which windows to choose for the Spanish style? Window frames made of dark wood (similarly to other furnishings) or white, slightly divided by thin muntin bars fit the southern climate. A commonly used element in the architecture of the Mediterranean countries was the arch. This form also appears in Spanish-style arrangements and appears, among others, in entrance portals and woodwork. High glazing finished with an arch, divided into smaller quarters, allows a lot of natural light into the room. The rays refract, introducing a pleasant, warm climate to the interior during the day.
